Work hmmmm

Wednesday was my first day at work. I didn't really do much. I pretty much just sat there. Yesterday I looked up photography agencies from around the world and emailed them a newsletter promoting Studio Machina. That is all I did. It was kind of boring, but everyone has to start somewhere. There was also nothing going on a the studio. I was only there in the mornings so I wonder if things happen in the afternoon or not. Every time my mentor Andrea looks at me its like he doesnt know what to do with me lol at least he hasnt told me that I'm dumb or something. Tonight my roommates and I are going to a restaurant our teacher is showing us. Most of the places close to us are not very authentic, they are catered more towards american taste since there are a lot of tourists. I am very excited!!! It is going to be so good! Other than that not much has happened. My italian still sucks and I should probably work on that. I can't believe I have already been here 3 weeks!!!! Only 9 left!!!!!

Monks, Book, and Tiramisu

Well there hasnt been too much that has happened. Our friend at school is a monk and invited us to the service and lunch on Saturday. 2 of my roommates, 2 others from school and I went. It was so amazing!!! After the service, which was all in italian, the 5 of us had lunch with the monks. We ate in silence as we listened to music. It was some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life! After we ate pasta, bread, salami, an onion potato cheese dish, and the best fruit of my LIFE we sat outside with the monks to have a cup of coffee or tea and a cookie. We just chatted with them even though they spoke little english except for our friend and another. That was pretty much all I did over the weekend. I went shopping a little. Got something for Porter and Gavin :) Still haven't found a way to church :( Sat at home Saturday night and read my book and watched Brazil play Costa Rica while all my roommates went out. They didn't get home till 4 and the other two till 9 am. Sunday I read and went on a walk. Today was pretty normal. Class and home. I just made a tiramisu about 20 min ago. Can't wait to eat it later!!!!!

Bla :P

Yesterday was pretty good. Went to school, went to the grocery store to get bread and olive oil and water. Made lots of notes for studying. Today is Bla :P Didn't have my interview today. Don't understand the language Bla Bla Bla

VENICE!!!!

Yesterday Meghan, Eric, Rich, and I got up and went to the train station around 7:30. We got on a bus and rode for about 2 and a half hours. We got to watch the Italian Job on the bus. I love that movie!!! Then we got off the bus and caught a train into Venice. When we got off the train we walked over to the canal where we got on a boat and rode down the Grand Canal! It was so beautiful! It looked just like a movie. All the different boats and buildings were so interesting. After we got off the boat we went to a short glass blowing demonstration. All the authentic hand blown glass is so pretty. After that we had some free time so my roommates and I got some lunch and Meghan and I each bought a mask. They wear the masks for the 5 week celebration of Carnavale. Then we took a walking tour and a short gondola ride. The walk was long and by the time I sat down on the train my feet hurt so bad, but it was worth it. I think I'm glad I'm living in Florence rather than Venice though. Most of the streets in Venice are very very tiny and there are so many more tourists in Venice than there are in Florence. I am so glad we went down there for a day because there was so much to see. I also had a fantastic piece of tiramisu with lunch :) It was so good! It was late when we got home and we all went to our beds and crashed. Mine and Meghans room has no windows but double windowed doors out to the patio. When we close them our room is sooooo dark. When I looked at my phone this morning it was already 12:30!!!!!! I had been awake for an hour or two, but I was just laying there comfortably with my eyes closed. Great start to my day lol Time to go take a walk and take some pictures, if there aren't too many tourists. They just get in the way. If not today then tonight or another day :)

So Tired. Bla

Last night my roommates and I went out and about. We met some interesting people that our other roommate knew. Needless to say we got home very late. I came home earlier with two of my roomates while the other 2 stayed out till 6:30! I am tired, but not near as tired as my roommate that only got an hour of sleep. We just got done with our Italian class and I need a lot of work! Tomorrow we are taking a trip to Venice!!!! We are leaving early in the morning so it is a relaxing day today. Now I just have to figure out how to get to church on sunday. Its a 2 and a half mile walk from my house, but I still don't know all the streets very well, and I have never been on the side of town where the church is. Well I will try to figure it out! Ciao!

Zzzzzzzzz

Yesterday was a good day. My roommates and I went to class then walked home. On the way home I found a perfect camel colored leather jacket!!! I absolutely love it!!! When we got home we did not do much. Took a short nap, did homework, and just stayed inside for the night. I'm super tired though because I did not fall asleep till 4 am :( but every day I walk past Burberry and see this gorgeous trench in the window and that brightens up my day a little. But just a little. I am so tired

Vegetarian!!!

Yesterday was a beautiful day! After our Italian class, which is from 9-12:30 with a 30 min break, my roommate Megan and I went to the market to get groceries. We also stopped by a stand and bought a couple scarves for cheap. We bought a HUGE chunk of cheese at the market. It is enormous and will last all 5 of us the entire 3 months we are here. We ran a couple other errands then went out to dinner as an apartment for fun. It was great. While we were sitting down all my roommates were getting wine and he put an empty glass in front of me and I said Oh no none for me. He said ok and then giggled and said you are vegetarian! It was pretty funny. I have no idea how you get vegetarian out of that, but now I am the vegetarian of the group, but I still eat meat...After dinner we walked around and down to the river. It was absolutely beautiful! Finally we walked back home and I slept like a rock!!! Well off to Italian class where my teach doesn't speak much english so it's like a guessing game for the 4 of us in there :)

Finally Here

The flight over from Germany to Italy was beautiful! I made it into Pisa and found my driver right away. I did not lose my luggage thank goodness. Two of my roommates had their luggage lost on the way over. I share a room with Megan. Richard, Eric, and Emily each have their own room. Our room is large and we are right by the patio. There is plenty of space in our room which is nice. Last night we went walking around, then got lost, and finally found our way back. I almost died walking past the Gucci, Dolce & Gabanna, Burberry, Armani etc.!!!! It was fantastic!!! The school we take language class at is right across from Tiffanys. That's how I remember where it is ;) I cant wait to go shopping today and we are planning on taking a train to Venice this Saturday for the day. I love this citiy! I just hope I can find my way back to my apartment today lol

Lots of Airports

Well I made it to Philadelphia and my next stop is Munich Germany. Then is is off to Pisa!!!!!! There are so many different people. I love people watching. But since I'm in the terminal with all the international flights I can't really understand what half the people are saying. But hey that's how it will be when I get to Italy! Can't wait! It is also in the high 80's in Florence so I am ready for some warmth!

Last Day!!!!

Well I'm almost all packed for Italy! It's my last day here and I leave early early tomorrow morning. I'm just hoping I don't get lost in the airport in Germany :P
